You’ve got to rate Bang Face. Not since the druids at Stonehenge has a festival been so unashamedly about getting absolutely cooked and sweating all over a bunch of blokes. There’s no pretensions afoot: you know exactly what you’re getting yourself in for when braving the hard crew, and Bang Fest 2009 looks to be no different.

Headlining proceedings are UK electronica vet Luke Vibert, dub heroes Aba Shanti-I and Iration Steppas [above], legendary MC duo the Ragaga Twins and Speed Dealer Moms, the collaboration between John Frusciante and Venetian Snares, who were set to play last year but didn’t – most people have heard the alleged reasons why by now.
