Alex ‘Boys Noize‘ Ridha is to release a new album, Power, on October 5.

The album will be out on Ridha’s own imaginatively named Boysnoize Records, a label which has previously released material by Siriusmo, Shadow Dancer and D.I.M. as well as the man himself. One word always comes to mind when tasked with describing the Boys Noize sound: maximal. Since the release of his early singles and debut album Oi Oi Oi, Ridha has tirelessly promoted the idea that can never be too big, too bassy or too squelchy. In short, he likes to make a racket.

Power is undoubtedly a step, if not a giant leap, forward. The roots of Ridha’s sound are still in electro-house and brutalist techno, but he’s generally slowed the pace: allowing elements of Timbaland-style hip-hop, LuckyMe-style aqua-crunk, cut-up Soundstream-esque disco-funk and lurid italo/hi-NRG to shine. 

Interestingly, he’s currently at work on the new Gonzales record; hisrecent co-productions with Erol Alkan, ‘Waves’ and ‘Death Suite’,have been big club hits this summer.
