Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr man to release new solo album

Lou Barlow, songwriter for cult lo-fi lot Dinosaur Jr and similarly revered 90s icons Sebadoh, will release his fifth solo album this October.

Titled Goodnight Unknown, it will be released on October 5 via Domino, and is self-described as a "cross between [Barlow’s] later work with Folk Implosion and earlier work with Sebadoh…to [his] ears, anyway."

It’s hardly been a quiet last few years for Barlow: Dinosaur Jr reformed mid-way through this decade, and recently released their second album of the 21st century, Farm, to mostly positive reviews. Meanwhile Sebadoh saw three of their albums, The Freed Man, Sebadoh III and Bubble and Scrape re-issued, also by Domino.

Barlow will also be touring the album this Autumn, supporting Dinosaur Jr. He’ll be playing live with The Missingmen, a duo made up of guitarist Tom Watson and drummer Raul Morales. Stateside readers can turn the page for those tour dates; for those of you outside the US, you’ll have to be content with the tracklisting.
