New York noise-pop champs Asobi Seksu have announced a new album – an acoustic one, no less – for release in November.

One of the last albums to be recorded in London’s Olympic Studios (previously used by The Beatles, The Stones, The Who and the rest of them), Acoustic at Olympic Studios sees the band stripped to its core duo  – guitarist James Hanna and vocalist/occasional percussionist Yuki Chikudate [above] – for a session of acoustic versions of Seksu standards, plus B-sides and a cover of Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star)’s ‘Suzanne’.

The album was recorded on an off-day on the band’s 2008 UK tour, and at the very least, it’ll be interesting to see which of the band’s songs remain powerful without the barrages of guitar and feedback that once defined them. It comes out November 16 on One Little Indian.
