Following their recent headline performance at Bestival, and in the midst of their current European tour, Massive Attack have announced details of a new London date for 2010.

The band will appear at Hammersmith Apollo on February 11, supported by "very special" guests yet to be announced. Tickets are priced at £31.50, and a percentage of this will be donated to the HOPING Foundation.

HOPING – which stands for Hope and Optimism for Palestinians in the Next Generation – was launched to offer support and encouragement to Palestinian children living in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, Syria, Jordon, Lebanon and elsewhere in the Middle East. A small charity with minimal administration, HOPING ensures that funds raised are given directly to local Palestinian community projects such as youth centres, disabled centres, libraries and arts groups.

The London show is in support of Massive Attack’s Splitting The Atom EP, which is due out on October 5, with a very special limited edition vinyl version to follow, courtesy of The Vinyl Factory (more details about that right here, very soon).
