580 Limited are to collaborate with a new Cardiff collective to open a new venue in Welsh capital Cardiff.
Stationed on Park Place, CF10, the Cardiff Institute "will host an eclectic blend of live music, club nights, arts events and food". 580 Limited are the folk behind the Field Day festival, London venues the Amersham Arms and Lock Tavern (where you’ll often find FACT throwing parties), Bristol’s Start the Bus, and the Adventures in the Beetroot Field club nights.
The hometown involvement comes from Something Creatives, who’re responsible for the slightly less recognizable Milgi, Secret Carnival, The Inflatable Church and Northcote Lane Market.
The Cardiff Art Insitutute opens with an invitation only event on Thursday November 5, which features live music from Cate le Bon and The Joy Formidable [above], as well as Casper C, Wonky Disco and The Institute DJs. No information on the CAI’s website yet, but with promises of a Funktion One soundsystem it should be an interesting one to watch.
