2 Bears is a new musical collaboration between Hot Chip‘s Joe Goddard and 1965 Recordings’ Raf Daddy.
Goddard mentioned the project in a recent interview with FACT, saying that an album would be due in 2010. Well, five tracks by 2 Bears are now streaming at their myspace, and we’ll assume – until we hear otherwise – that they’re taken from that forthcoming LP.
Unashamedly bright and vocal-led, the material ranges from trancey minimal techno (‘Follow The Bear’) to the more reflective dub-pop ‘When Am I Gonna Make A Living’ and the brash, Jesse Rose-esque house of ‘Mercy Time’.

Goddard is a busy man. This month saw the release of his debut solo album, Harvest Festival, and the internet is currently aflutter with excitement about the third Hot Chip album, due in early 2010.
