Fenn O’Berg will release a new album, In Stereo, on March 5.

The erratic group project of experimental maestros Christian Fennesz, Peter Rehberg and Jim O’Rourke, Fenn O’Berg have released two albums to date, but In Stereo is technically their first “proper” studio album – The Magic Sound of Fenn O’Berg (1999) and The Return of Fenn O’Berg (2002) were both edits of live performances. It will be released on CD and double-vinyl through Rehberg’s Editions Mego (cover art pictured above). A note on the label’s website had this to say about the music:

“Whereas previously the emphasis was on a chaotic blend of found samples mangled through their mobile computing systems to create a humorous oddball sound, ‘In Stereo’ implements a more wider instrumental palette of analogue & digital synthesis, guitar, piano, bass and percussion. What they do maintain is the ability to make a near psychedelic audio blend where its impossible to determine who does what.”
