Black Noise is Pantha’s third album, his first for Rough Trade, and the follow-up to 2007’s majestic This Bliss. It finds the German producer, real name Hendrik Weber, further evolving his heady signature sound, all growling basslines, taut techno rhythms, twitchy field recordings and a veritable army of celestial bell-tones. With guest appearances from Panda Bear and Tyler Pope (!!!/LCD Soundsystem), it’s the most organic and expansive Pantha Du Prince record to date, and that’s saying something.
