Sam Willis of renowned blogger / DJ duo Allez Allez and bedroom pop hero Banjo or Freakout have combined forces under the name Walls.

A self-titled debut album [sleeve above] is on the wall, and will be released via Kompakt – on CD, LP (with free CD) and digitally – on April 26 in Europe, and 27 in America.

The press release promises “an outstanding concoction of the best that old and new technology has to offer … lost somewhere between the psychedelic airspace occupied by Animal Collective and Boards of Canada.”

For a taste of what to expect, you can download an early demo version of album opener ‘Burnt Sienna’ over at Pitchfork, where you can also check a recent remix of ‘Stick to my Side’, a highlight of Pantha du Prince’s new album Black Noise that features Animal Collective’s Panda Bear on vocals.

Walls with be playing with Pantha du Prince this Saturday at Cargo, London; entry is free.
