YACHT are a funny one. They’re a bit like pick ‘n’ mix sweets in that, at the right point, giving ‘I’m in Love with a Ripper’ or ‘Summer Song’ will brighten up your day like nobody’s business. But overdose on them, and you’ll start to hate the world.

Still, the DFA duo are always a fun live proposition, and so it’s no bad thing that they’ll be touring the UK’s shores soon, supporting LCD Soundsystem.

Not only that, but the band will be sporting a new line-up: the core duo of YACHT remain, but will now be joined by “three musician friends, who they’ve lovingly-named THE STRAIGHT GAZE.” Nice.

So nice, in fact, that YACHT have prepared a tour trailer, which you can watch below.

They’ll be playing with LCD Soundsytem at the following UK dates, while a huge list of LCD-less American dates can be found on the band’s myspace:

Friday 23 April – LONDON – Brixton Academy
Saturday 24 April – LONDON – Brixton Academy
Monday 26 April – BIRMINGHAM – Academy
Tuesday 27 April – LEEDS – Academy
Wednesday 28 April – GLASGOW – Barrowlands
Thursday 29 April – GLASGOW – Barrowlands
Saturday 1 May – MANCHESTER – Academy
Sunday 2 May – BRISTOL – Academy

In other YACHTing news, the pair will be releasing a new single, ‘The Afterlife’ on 19 April.

The track is originally from last year’s album See Mystery Light, but this picture disc 12” will come packaged with remixes by the xx, Joy Electric, Andrew WK (yes! Andrew WK), Mai Ling and Dat Politics.
