Good news for fans of greyscale, stripped-down techno: Sandwell District will release two new 12″s this month.

The seven tracks spread across these 12″s apparently have nothing to do with the eagerly awaited Sandwell District album, which is due out later in summer, around the time the international collective is scheduled to headline the Sonar festival in Barcelona.

From the looks of it, Sandwell District (Sampler Single One) and Sandwell District (Sampler Single Two) will be accompanied by photocopy-insert artwork from John Mendez, who contributes two untitled productions as Silent Servant. Female (Peter Sutton) weighs in with a ‘live extract’ while Function (Dave Sumner) provides one untitled track of his own. The highlights are undoubtedly Regis’s contributions: edits of Female and Silent Servant which swap bleepy linearity for heavily swung, syncopated rhythms and engaging synthetic textures.

Sampler Single One tracklist:
A. Intro
AA. Function
B. Silent Servant (Regis Edit)

Sampler Single Two tracklist:
A. Silent Servant
AA. Female (live extract)
B. Silent Servant
BB. Female (Regis Edit)
