Oriol, the man behind this year’s excellent ‘Coconut Coast’ single, will release a full length album for Planet Mu next month.

An alumni of London’s CD-R club night (where Floating Points cut his teeth), Oriol Sindhji was born in Barcelona, studied music in Boston, and now is based between Cambridge and London.

‘Coconut Coast’ appealed to us on the strength of its summery synths and sun-bleached melodies; the full-length album, titled Night and Day, promises to expand on that aesthetic, “connect[ing] the dots between Oriol’s musical tastes, from the ’70s fusion and experimentation of Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder to the lush house of Theo Parrish, Larry Heard and Recloose, into drum and bass and dubstep.”

Night and Day will be released on July 19.
