Following an inaugural release from DJ Znobia, the Enchufada label delivers Volume II of its Hard Ass Sessions series.

For this release Enchufada asked four different producers to create their own takes on the sound of kuduro, the hectic Angolan street music style popularised by Buraka Som Sistema. The only conditions were that the participants make tracks inspired by kuduro, and that they be between 135 and 142 BPM.

By far the strangest and most compelling of the bunch is ‘Dance Report’ by Bok Bok. The Night Slugs mainman draws on his unparalleled grasp of grime, UK house, juke and other mutant dance strains to deliver something that is at once recognisably kuduro, and totally alien.

Other contributions come from Italy’s Nik Sarno, Buenos Aires-based Frenchman Douster and Lisboa’s Zombies For Money.

1. Mana Wasa- Nic Sarno
