There can be few more contentious albums to be released this year than /\/\/\Y/\, the new album from M.I.A., one of music’s most reliably contentious figures.

Featuring contributions from DJ Blaqstarr, Switch, Diplo and Rusko, there’s no doubting that the record is engaging, managing to balance genuinely affecting pop fare and gutter-friendly club sounds with aplomb. Critics have inevitably focussed on some of the more slapdash lyrics and arrangements, but hey, that’s part of the charm. At any rate, you should decide for yourself what you think, which is (sort of) why we’ve secured a vinyl LP copy of /\/\/\Y/\ to give away to one lucky FACT reader.
