Plan B will be holding five parties across two venues to see in the Carnival weekend.

The South London club’s festivities start with hip-hop veterans Ugly Duckling live on Thursday night (11pm, £15 advance). Friday night then sees Bryan G’s jungle label V Records take over the club with Dillinja, DJ Die, Krust vs Artificial Intelligence, Bryan G vs Jumping Jack Frost, Ruffstuff and Jordan V (9pm-4am, £10 on the door).

Saturday sees Norman Jay’s Goodtimes travel to nearby pub The Rest is Noise for their official carnival warm-up (9pm-4am, £12 on the door). Handpicked support from Jay comes from the Sambalanco crew, who cover everything from jazz and hip-hop to Latin beats and Carnival rhythms, and a DJ set from Playing with Knives.

Then at Plan B that night, you’re treated to House Rules with James Zabiela, Reset Robot, Tom Budden, Mouji and Cosmonauts (9pm-4am, £10 advance, £12 on the door). Finally Deadly Rhythm close the weekend, with a Sunday session featuring reggae legend David Rodigan [above], drum’n’bass veteran Shy FX, Rinse FM’s Oneman and more. That one’s £8 advance, £10 on the door, 9pm-4am.
