Canadian indie torch-bearers Arcade Fire have never shied away from doing things on a massive scale, and their new video is further testament to that.

If you head to the band’s site, you can watch the video for ‘We Used to Wait’, which according to Google – who worked with the band on it – is aimed at answering the question “what would a music experience designed specifically for the modern web look like?”

We say video, it involves a ton of windows on your desktop, and doesn’t work on Firefox (it’s designed for Google Chrome), so it’s more like a virtual experience. Basically, you’re asked to enter the address of your childhood home, and you’re sent running down Google Street Mapped versions of the areas where you grew up. It’s pretty cool, put it that way.
