The J Dilla Foundation, ran by the deceased producer and MC’s mother Maureen Yancy, has launched So Far To Go, an international art contest designed to celebrate Dilla’s life.

The non-profit organisation has teamed up with La Famiglia and 323East to make this happen; details can be found on Art4Dilla.com, where contestants will be able to upload their entries, and vote for the winning design.

Speaking to AllHipHop, Yancy – better known as Ma Dukes – explained that the foundation “seeks to be a stable in the movement for progressive music education. We also hope to be leaders in the efforts to enhance and develop arts programs in urban communities.”

The contest’s winner will have their design produced as a poster and a series of limited edition Giclee prints, signed by the winning artist and Ma Dukes herself. Proceeds will help fund the Dilla Foundation’s on-going programs.
