As Summer loses its battle to Autumn outside, This week’s FACT’s playlist is a suitably murky listening experience.
There’s a brace of British electronic classics from Throbbing Gristle (pictured) and The Normal – tickets for the former’s European tour went on sale earlier this week, and Mute Records, whose first release was The Normal’s ‘TVOD’/’Warm Leatherette’ became an independent again after ending its long-standing deal with EMI. Hype Williams, who have just released a winning new 7″, are represented by a track off their untitled album for Carnivals earlier this year, and there’s a cut for you to enjoy from the new mini-album by White Car, this week’s highest rated new release on FACT. We pay tribute to Delia & Gavin, who just announced their final release for DFA, by recalling the down-the-rabbit-hole closer from their now legendary Days Of Mars LP, and with Richie Hawtin having yesterday announced details of an upcoming Plastikman box set, we dig out a chilling highlight of his fantastic Closer LP. dBridge’s brand new remix of Magnetic Man is in there too, alongside persies from Nacho Patrol (Danny ‘Legowelt’ Wolfers in ethi0-house guise) and Abstract Thought (a Drexciya alias). Enjoy.
