The performance, entitled Kings To Many People, is taking place at the 13th edition of the Felabration festival in Lagos, which, as you may have guessed, is a celebration of the legacy of the late Afrobeat progenitor Fela Kuti. Drummer Allen, who has worked extensively with the likes of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Damon Albarn as well as the mighty Fela, will appear on stage at midnight with Detroit house/techno mystic Parrish (the pair have worked in the studio together previously at Red Bull Music Academy) and a nine-piece band of Lagos musicians, plus guests including Nneka, Amp Fiddler and Rody Cereyon.
A documentary feature about this one-off concert will be released in December via redbullmusicacademy.com.
