Radiohead will release their new album, The King of Limbs, this Saturday 19 February.

The sudden announcement was made this morning via the band’s official website, with the message “thank you for waiting” and a link to thekingoflimbs.com – where the album can be pre-ordered as a digital release, available on Saturday, or as a “newspaper album” out Monday 9 May.

The “newspaper” edition will include two 10″ records, a CD and download. The pre-order is £30 (for MP3 download) and £33 (for WAV). The digital-only release is £6 for MP3 and £9 for WAV. Details of both editions below, along with the cover image.

Interestingly it’s not yet known whether the album is being self-released by the band or via a label. The CD edition of the band’s last album, In Rainbows, came courtesy of XL.


Newspaper edition:
* Two clear 10″ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.

* Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.

Digital-only edition:

* MP3 version is a 320K constant bit rate file.
* WAV version is a full CD quality uncompressed digital audio file.
