It might be a bold statement (and not a particularly catchy one), but Pete Paphies’ (former Chief Rock Critic at the Times, now a contributor to Mojo and the Guardian) recent pilot for BBC 6 Music claims to be “the world’s only networked vinyl-only radio show.”

Featuring Paul Weller, Laura Marling and Norman ‘Fatboy Slim’ Cook as guests, the show was, naturally, vinyl-only, with Weller in particular pulling out some rare finds, and Cook allowing Paphides – whose own vinyl collection is apparently worth £1m – to rummage through his collection at his Brighton home.

The show isn’t currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer, but here’s hoping it becomes a regular feature.
