Blood Orange is a new project from Devonte Hynes, former purveyor of indie rock, half-baked exhibitions and glasses that almost definitely weren’t prescription as Lightspeed Champion.
Apparently, Blood Orange finds Hynes drawing from three years spent in New York, immersed in chillwave and r’n’b. His debut album under the new name, Coastal Grooves, will be released later this year on Domino, produced by Los Angeles’ Ariel Rechtshaid (past credits include Glasser, We Are Scientists and more).
Accompanying its release will two remix 12″s, one of which features the work of Manchester boogie juggernaut Krystal Klear. You can download Klear’s remix at the below link.
