Haleek Maul and Supreme Cuts' cussed 'M00N' gets a sinister video

Chicago production tag-team Supreme Cuts and Barbadian stripling Haleek Maul have unveiled a new video for Chrome Lips cut ‘M00N’.

Chrome Lips was a tumaceous set, heavy on the atmosphere and light on, well, light. Even if it didn’t quite hang as well as Maul’s Oxyconteen EP, it offered a compelling introduction to a creative partnership with oodles of promise. The video for early leak ‘M00N’, directed by Andy Capper, does a good job of matching the torture-chamber atmospherics of the track, and even makes the odd visual nod to Apocalypse Now.

The video comes with some commentary by Maul on the story behind the track: “M00N” is more or less a reflection upon internal struggles, both ongoing and resolved which caused me to doubt a lot of things I was doing from relationships to school and music. After venting on that track a lot of those insecurities dissolved into nothing and I felt free from a lot of the turmoil which was haunting me”.
