The Screaming Females’ singer/guitar-slinger joins Garbage on stage to cover a classic.
Earlier this week, at Houston’s House of Blues, reunited alt-rockers Garbage were joined by Screaming Female Marissa Paternoster to cover Patti Smith’s classic ballad ‘Because the Night.’
Preceding the performance is a feminist message from Shirley Manson, before she launches into what she says is her first on-stage duet. Paternoster brings her warbled vocals and old-school guitar shredding to the Smith-Springteen tune. Watch the clip above, courtesy Stereogum.
The Screaming Females recently announced that the band would be cancelling upcoming dates due to the chronic pain issues Pasternoster has dealt with since a bout of mononucleosis.
