Solange turns a new leaf on True.
Considering the current state of R&B, this might be the moment Solange emerges from older sister Beyonce’s shadow. Co-written and produced by Dev Hynes (who seems to have his hands in everything pop-flavored these days), the EP has that throwback vibe that Hynes mines so ably as Blood Orange: somewhere between quiet storm and 80s/90s mall pop.
True is the follow-up to 2008’s Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams; a new full-length is expected next year. Solange will release the EP on November 27 via Terrible Records. Until then, stream these 30-second snippets of the EP (keep in mind that they are not in album order). [via Okayplayer]
