It’s Oscar nomination day, and, once again, it looks like Adele’s the frontrunner to win something.

The singer’s theme to Skyfall has made the shortlist for the 2013 Academy Awards’ gong for ‘Best Original Song’. The singer is up against Ted‘s ‘Everybody Needs A Best Friend’, Chasing Ice‘s ‘Before My Time’, ‘Pi’s Lullaby’ from Life Of Pi and ‘Suddenly’ from Les Miserables.

Those who didn’t make the cut include Rick Ross, whose ‘100 Coffins’ is on the OST for Tarantino’s forthcoming Django Unchained. Others to miss out include Karen O, Arcade Fire, Fiona Apple and The Black Keys (for their contribution to RZA’s kung-fu romp The Man With The Iron Fists).

The awards will take place on February 24. The rules of eligibility for the Best Original Song category were changed this year, after the award was mired in extremely mild controversy in 2012.
