Later this month, Brooklyn’s fine Sacred Bones label is to release LPs by two different Chilean bands on the same day.
Föllakzoid and The Holydrug Couple both hail from the city of Santiago. Föllakzoid have already cropped up on the Sacred Bones roster before, releasing a rather good self-titled EP in 2011. The young ensemble specialize in taut, groovy Krautrock , and fans of Beak>’s 2012 >> LP are heartily encouraged to check them out.
The label will release their new LP II on January 22, which will apparently see the band harness “a gravitational force that makes South America able to dialogue directly with other places, time and dimensions” (someone please hook these guys up with Slugabed and his crystals).
Duo The Holydrug Couple, meanwhile, specialise in the sort of sun-dazzled indie-pop that Tame Impala have been touting to great success. Their latest, titled Noctuary, is also a sequel to a 2011 Sacred Bones EP, and promises “a slow motion 60s beach party dream that you never want to wake from”.
II and Noctuary will both arrive on January 22. Clips of both are available below. [via Exclaim]
