Stream new Xander Harris LP The New Dark Age Of Love, out next week on Not Not Fun

The Austin electronic composer follows up 2011’s Urban Gothic.

When we premiered lead cut ‘Night Fortress’ last month, the early word on The New Dark Age of Love was that Xander Harris had opted for a “sleek, streamlined, cold-wave/dystopian sound,” trading in horror film homage for cyberpunk soundscapes.

Citing Chris & Cosey / Carti Tutti, Klaus Schulze, and Umberto as influences this time around, Harris delivers the same type of cinematic synthwave of last year’s Neal Stephenson-tribute Snow Crash, from foreboding tech romps like ‘Vultures of tenderness’ and ‘Bring Me Their Heads’ to songs that are more ambient (‘When Prophecy Falls’) or even darkly romantic (‘Legacies’).

Stream The New Dark Age Of Love below. The album is due out April 2 on Los Angeles imprint Not Not Fun.
