4AD outfit Daughter's totally reimagine Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' on brooding cover

Following on from that cheeky 8-bit cover, here’s an altogether more brooding take on Daft Punk’s first ever chart-topper. 

On Saturday, 4AD three-piece Daughter stopped by Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 show to perform their own version of the Daft Punk/Pharrell/Nile Rodgers team-up. If the original was a glass-half-full sort of affair, Daughter’s reading is hopeless and heartsore – singer Elena Tonra jettisons Pharrell’s good time cheer, and the instrumental is as brittle and limber as anything on Coexist.
