The words of the late Joy Division frontman are to be enshrined in print.

Faber is to publish a book of Ian Curtis’ lyrics and notebooks next year, with a foreword written by the singer’s widow Deborah Curtis. Edited by eminent music journalist Jon Savage, So This Is Permanence: Lyrics and Notebooks will feature facsimile pages of the singer’s notebooks alongside the lyrics for Joy Division classics like ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ and ‘Atmosphere’.

So This Is Permanence will come out in spring 2014, and marks yet another foray into pop music for Faber, who in 2011 published  Mother, Brother, Lover: Selected Lyrics by Jarvis Cocker. [via Louder Than War]

In other music book news, Morrissey recently cancelled his autobiography due to a “last-minute content disagreement” with Penguin – though the publisher has denied ever even seeing a copy of the long-awaited tome.
