Last month Pharrell released an incredible 24-hour video – the world’s first – for the insanely catchy and jubilant song ‘Happy’, which features on the soundtrack to Despicable Me 2.

Even if you spent a whole day combing the footage for famous faces – Jamie Foxx, Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator among them – you can surely squeeze a few more minutes to go behind the scenes to hear Pharrell and French director duo We Are From L.A. explain how the marathon video was made.

Watch the making-of mini-documentary above and check out a small slice of the 24-hour bonanza below.

After a world-beating year at the helm of two million-selling singles, last week Pharrell teased details of his next solo project, due some time in 2014: “Something’s coming, and I’m not rapping on it.”
