Listen to Nile Rodgers' first solo single in years, 'Do What You Wanna Do'

The disco original follows-up his recent collaborations.

Chic’s Nile Rodgers had a banner 2013, collaborating with Daft Punk on a trifecta of tunes, along with singles with Disclosure, Tensnake and others. He also announced plans to work with Giorgio Moroder and to record a new Chic track featuring “almost everybody” who has ever sung with him.

His first solo release in years, however, is a new single entitled ‘Do What You Wanna Do’. Appropriately, the summery disco-pop song was recorded in Ibiza at last summer’s International Music Summit. The song was auctioned off to benefit his We Are Family Foundation and will be released by Cr2 Records on August 10, backed with remixes by MK, Eats Everything and Rob Da Bank. [via Rolling Stone]
