Sean ‘Dancing Man’ O’Brien finally got his dance party in LA last night.
Two months ago he was tracked down by a group of women who wanted to throw a party for him in protest at his treatment by 4channers who had mocked his dancing in a viral video. With the help of Twitter, they located O’Brien in Liverpool and invited him to Hollywood.
The day kicked off with O’Brien appearing on the Today Show with Meghan Trainor, who sang ‘All About That Bass’, before moving to the Avalon club where none other than Monica Lewinsky gave a speech. Moby was there to DJ, and party-hard proponent Andrew W.K. showed up too. Pharrell had intended to come along, but tweeted a message of support instead.
The night raised over $30,000 for anti-bullying charities. “There will always be bad, there will always be bad in the world, but there’s far more good people,” said O’Brien in his Today Show interview.
