Dwayne Johnson to star in Big Trouble In Little China remake

By , Jun 2 2015

John Carpenter’s cult classic scheduled for remake.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star in a new reboot of John Carpenter‘s Big Trouble In Little China, the Wrap reports. Johnson will play the role of Jack Burton, originally performed by Kurt Russell.

There are actually some early signs of hope as well. While studios are eager to reboot any franchise they can, it was actually Johnson — who cites the original as one of his favorite films — that came to the studio to pitch the remake. The screenplay will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, best known for X-Men: First Class.
