Industrial designer Roy Harpaz has created a new vertical record player.
Named the ‘toc’, Harpaz’s new vertical design won’t be much use for DJing, but it does come with a load of other handy features and a very impressive design.
The turntable uses a digital sensor and linear tracking system that allows you to skip between tracks with a remote control or via LED touch buttons on the walnut-wood front panel.
The toc can play 12″s, 10″s and 7″s and also comes built with spherical bearings to play warped records without interference. The design is a nod to the short-lived ’80s craze for vertical players such as Sony’s cult PS-F5 Flamingo.
