“We hope through the Glastonbury ley lines this gets to you.”
Bumped up at the 11th hour to replace the Foo Fighters after Dave Growl broke his leg, Florence + The Machine yesterday (June 26) played their first Glastonbury headline set on the Pyramid Stage.
It was as enthusiastic a set as you’d expect from a band given top billing at the last minute, with Florence Welch being particularly grateful to Grohl for the opportunity, sending him well-wishes “through the Glastonbury ley lines”. The band even covered the Foo Fighters’ ‘Times Like These’ in the US three-piece’s honour.
You can rewatch the whole thing on the BBC iPlayer (where poor Florence is still listed as “Foo Fighters”), or just watch the band’s cover of ‘Times Like These’ below.
