The club’s New Year’s Eve party will be its last.

Tokyo’s Air club will soon be closing its doors for good.

The club shared the news via a statement on its website, but didn’t offer any specific reason for the closure. According to the Air, the forthcoming New Year’s Eve party will be the last to be held at the venue.

“It has been decided that AIR will see its final party on New Year’s Eve. From all of the staff at Air, thank you so much for your support over the years. We will endeavor to bring you the best parties right up until we close,” the statement reads.

“We look forward to being able to dance with you all again in a new space some day. We’ll dance together in the future!”

Since opening in 2001, the venue – located in Tokyo’s Daikanyama district – has become one of the city’s top clubs for house and techno, with everyone from Prins Thomas to Ben UFO appearing at the club during its 14-year lifespan. [via RA]
