Some of rock’s biggest names gathered for the memorial service of Motörhead frontman Lemmy at Hollywood’s Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood on Saturday (January 9).

Dave Grohl, Slash and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford were among those who paid tribute to Lemmy, with the Foo Fighters frontman recounting the time he met the singer over a video game.

Lemmy died aged 70 on December 28 after a short battle with cancer. Fans have since petitioned to have a chemical element named Lemmium in honour of the late rocker.

The memorial service for Lemmy is taking place in Los Angeles.
