Watch the band lead a rendition of ‘Heroes’ in tribute to the Thin White Duke.

New Orleans was packed with hundreds of people paying tribute to the late David Bowie at a parade organised by Arcade Fire yesterday (January 16).

Organised with the help of the Preservational Hall Jazz Band, the Facebook event page for the parade asked people to dress in their “best Bowie outfit or something more strange”.

As Pitchfork reports, the parade saw Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne lead sing-alongs of Bowie classics including ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’ and ‘Heroes’, which can watched in the clip below.

Bowie was an early fan of Arcade Fire, who he went on to collaborate with several times – notably contributing vocals to the title track from their 2013 album, Reflektor.

New Orleans wasn’t the only place to get a Bowie street party this week – on Monday (January 11) revellers filled the streets of Brixton to celebrate his life.
