A new crop of the 33 1/3 books chosen in 2014 are set to be released this spring.

Five selections will publish from March through May, starting on March 24 with media professor Kembrew McLeod’s take on Blondie’s Parallel Lines. Travel writer Rolf Potts will take on Geto Boys’ eponymous debut album, investigating “when hip-hop was beginning to replace rock as the transgressive sound of American youth.” It caps off the run and will be released on May 19.

Other selections include New Kids On The Block’s Hangin’ Tough, the Grateful Dead’s Workingman’s Dead (both to be published on April 21) and Sleater-Kinney’s Dig Me Out (May 19), which will include never-before-read interviews with the band.
