The singer describes her last album as “hell”, says the next will sound like “paradise”.

In a new interview, Björk has revealed she is already at work on her new album and follow-up to last year’s Vulnicura. She’s made several songs already with Arca (who co-produced Vulnicura), but alluded to a distinctly different sound.

“The last album, we sort of call it “hell” – it was like divorce! So we are doing paradise now. Utopia,” she told comedian Julia Davis in AnOther Magazine.

Björk says she has three songs finished with Arca, but the process is still “really early on”. Arca, meanwhile, is expected to release his new album soon.

“I’m still allowing myself to be a submarine; I don’t totally have the view of it yet,” she says. Revisit our review of Vulnicura.
