Rappers old and new invited to discuss criminal justice reform.

Barack Obama invited a long list of artists to the White House yesterday to discuss his My Brother’s Keeper initiative.

Among those invited were Nicki Minaj, Chance The Rapper, Ludacris, DJ Khaled, Common, Pusha T, Rick Ross, and Busta Rhymes. The purpose of the meeting was, according to a White House official who spoke to The FADER, to “highlight the importance of reforming our nation’s criminal justice system.”

Obama signed copies of his book and official portraits for those in attendance and many took to social media to express their gratitude and positive feelings about the event.
