The Simpsons’ executive producer and showrunner shares script excerpt from rejected Prince cameo.

After Prince’s sudden death on Thursday April 21, there have been an outpouring of remembrances for the iconic singer. But one of the most interesting pieces of the past that has been unearthed is pieces of the script for a proposed cameo on The Simpsons that Prince rejected.

Meant to be a sequel to the Michael Jackson-featuring episode ‘Stark Raving Dad’, the episode would have featured a return of the character Leon Kompowsky, who believed himself to be the King of Pop. In Prince’s episode, Kompowsky would now believe that he was Prince, who would also be performing in Springfield.

Read pieces of the script, which was written by Conan O’Brien, and shows that music fan Lisa Simpson, who once played saxophone with President Clinton, was a fan.
