“It’s a free country, unless you love the same sex.”

Vic Mensa has shared his new pro-LGBT single, ‘Free Love’, featuring Lil B, Le1f, Halsey and Malik Yusef, in the wake of the recent Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando.

Produced by Papi Beatz with artwork from Jake Osmun, it’s not clear yet whether this is a standalone single or part of a release.

The Chicago rapper tweeted a statement to accompany the track, in which he writes: “Free Love. What a moment in time. Love is under attack from all angles. I just saw a photo on CNN of 49 birds flying over a vigil they were holding in Orlando for the 49 souls lost at Pulse nightclub.” The Roc Nation artist also revealed that he didn’t feel “personally attached to LGBT rights” until a family member identified as queer this year.

“Looking at the world around me, I realize now that as a creature of love, the battles of all people fighting to love are also mine. And I will stand with them. Will you?” Read the full statement below.
