The Boston band unleash surf-y stomp-rock taster ‘Um Chagga Lagga’.

After hinting that new material was on its way back in February, Pixies have announced the release of new album Head Carrier and shared first single ‘Um Chagga Lagga’.

Their first release with new full-time bassist Paz Lenchantin (of Zwan fame), following the departure of the legendary Kim Deal in 2013 and later Muffs’ leader Kim Shattuck, the LP is released on September 30 via Pixiesmusic / Play It Again Sam.

Head Carrier is completely comprised of new material, recorded over six weeks in London earlier this year, and follows 2014’s Indie Cindy album, the band’s first full-length since 1991’s Trompe le Monde.
