Credit cards used in the last year may be compromised.
The Madison Square Garden Company announced news of a security breach in credit card data at five of its venues, Billboard reports.
The company revealed “external unauthorized access to MSG’s payment processing system” has affected credit cards used to buy food and merch at Madison Square Garden, the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theater, and the Chicago Theater. Cards swiped between November 9 2015 and October 24 2016 may have had data compromised including credit card numbers, cardholder names, expiration dates and internal verification codes.
The company said the breach was stopped with the help of security firms. Though not all cards used during in the window of time were affected, all customers have been notified. A spokesperson for MSG later told Billboard that its venues are safe again for customers.
“The independent forensic investigation shows that no further cards were accessed after the time when signs of unauthorized access were identified,” they said. “Customers may use their cards with confidence at MSG venues.”
