The Georgia rapper said he wouldn’t do it “no matter how much money it was.”

2 Chainz has revealed that he was invited to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In a post on Instagram, the rapper said that Trump’s team contacted his management after he expressed his disappointment at not being invited to the White House during Barack Obama’s presidency.

“I know they’re only doing this because they can’t get nobody else and they want me to perform for the inauguration,” he wrote. “I had to say nah no matter how much money it was. I probably won’t be going to the White House no time soon that’s why I was trying to go then.”

Obama threw a farewell party at the White House last week with a number of hip hop and R&B stars in attendance including Wale, Chance The Rapper, Solange Knowles, Usher, LaLa Anthony and J. Cole.

Bemoaning his lack of invite, 2 Chainz wrote on Instagram: “I usually leave a lot of shit to myself, but I wanted to go to the White House but I never got invited, I see all them beautiful pictures of everybody going to all these parties. I just wanted to say what’s up to Barack. We all come from a troubled past but I see him give people some really big chances. But anyway, it didn’t happen and I’m cool with that.”

2 Chainz joins the likes of Moby, Elton John, and Andrea Bocelli, who have also publicly rejected invitations to perform at Trump’s inauguration.

However, Compton rapper YG recently offered to perform his anti-Trump anthem ‘Fuck Donald Trump’ at the event for the sum of $4m.

Yesterday, Broadway singer Jennifer Holliday pulled out of the inauguration, apologising in an open letter for her “lapse of judgment”. Currently, confirmed performers include 3 Doors Down, Toby Keith, and teen opera singer Jackie Evancho.
