The band left the stage twice after their sound kept cutting out.

Radiohead were plagued by technical issues during their headline set at Coachella, last night.

The band were forced to leave the stage twice during their performance after the sound was distorted by feedback and repeatedly cutout.

The malfunctioning sound affected not only the main stage speakers but also the music festival’s live stream audio.

“Fuckin’ aliens again,” Thom Yorke quipped after the sound dropped out during ‘Ful Stop’. The group tried to carry on, playing ’15 Step’, but faced another sound failure prompting them to quit the stage, reports Pitchfork.

They returned after a brief break to perform ‘The National Anthem’ and continued the show despite audio problems persisting.

Following another dropout, fittingly during ‘Let Down’, the band left the stage again.

When Radiohead returned a second time, Yorke asked: “Can you actually hear me now?”

“I’d love to tell you a joke, lighten the mood, something like that. But this is Radiohead, so fuck it,” before launching into ‘Street Spirit (Fade Out)’.

Lady Gaga will take to the main stage later tonight, followed by Kendrick Lamar on Sunday. You can see the full livestream lineup and customise your own viewing schedule here.
